On Monday, Republic TV's Editor-In-Chief spoke to Law Minister Ravi Shankar about ISI-backed Pakistan stooges such as Zaid Hamid whose account was blocked by Twitter in India.
Since the time it was clear that Kashmir was being integrated with the rest of India, several Pak-stooges had been spreading fearmongering and warmongering posts over Kashmir using fake news and even targetted Republic. After Republic's non-stop reportage on the Pakistan propaganda machinery, the ISI-backed stooges even ran a campaign against the channel.
"I will look at the matter once I get back to Delhi. Indian digital space are not allowed to be abused by ISI agents, if still abuse is going on by fake news, we will surely take stern action. I will return to Delhi, see the complaint filed by Republic. I will follow up with Twitter. I will examine the matter. My system will talk to Twitter, not me.
"Let me return to Delhi I will look at the entire situation matter itself and we welcome Twitter and social media platofrm for communication and freedom of ideas, but let me be clear any attack on indias integrity. I will look into the matter I promise," he said.
Twitter on Sunday blocked ISI-backed Pakistani stooge Zaid Zaman Hamid's account in India following Republic's persistent reportage and even an official complaint to the company against handles like his.
During and after the sensitive period of integration of Kashmir with the rest of India, Twitter handles like that of Hamid spread posts and videos filled with vitriol against India. One such video also distorted content from Republic's show and tried to malign the channel and paint an untruthful version of how Indians felt for Kashmiris and J&K.
