UNMISSABLE: Cloudburst is not just heavy rain, it's literally a cloud 'bursting'! And it has taught Anand Mahindra something

What is described online as "an extreme amount of precipitation in a short period of time", shows itself to be akin to someone puncturing the cloud, as it virtually empties itself in the quickest time possible

Mahindra group Executive Chairman Anand Mahindra has shared a very interesting thought and an incredible video to go along with it.

Taking to Twitter, Mr Mahindra has posted an absolutely jaw-dropping video of a natural phenomenon that is rarer and more destructive than one would think!

The phenomenon is a 'cloudburst', which, as Mr Mahindra's video shows, is literally exactly that.

He suggests that the events in the video are taking place in New Zealand. The location is picture perfect, with a long lake nestled in a low valley with tall mountains in the background. However, heavy clouds make it abundantly clear that the tranquillity is about to be disrupted.

While it's not clear whether or not the video is a time-lapse, it captures adequately what a cloudburst is. What is described online as "an extreme amount of precipitation in a short period of time", shows itself to be akin to someone puncturing the cloud, as it virtually empties itself in the quickest time possible.

The water falls not as steady rain but as though a levee has broken -- unrestrained and forceful.

Here's the video and Anand Mahindra's learning from it:
