Retaliating to Opposition's claims of conspiracy in relation to the Unnao Rape victim's accident in Rae Bareli, Baghpat MP Dr. Satya Pal Singh, on Monday has said that if the victim's family wishes CBI intervention in the accident investigation, then the authorities will do so. He said that all conspiracy claims were baseless adding that BJP is against criminals both within their party and outside.
"All the allegations made by the Opposition parties are baseless. This is BJP and Yogiji's government. BJP has jailed its own councillor in this matter and filed a case on this matter. Just now the UP government has stated that if the survivor's family wishes that the CBI take over the case, then it will do the needful. Our government does not do any bias in this matter for trivial political reasons. We are against criminals whether they belong to our party or elsewhere," he said.

Sources report that the CBI has sought details from UP Police about the accident as the victim is the prime witness in the Unnao case. The CBI has reportedly decided to keep a close eye on the investigation of UP police with regards to the accident, as per sources.
Earlier on Sunday, a car in which the survivor of the Unnao rape case, her family and lawyer were traveling was hit by an over-speeding truck in Rae Bareli on Sunday, killing two members while leaving her and her advocate critically injured, police said.
The family was allegedly visiting the Unnao rape victim's uncle, who is currently in Raebareli jail. The police are currently investigating the circumstance under which the accident has occurred. Sources also report that a truck had allegedly hit the victim's car, and the truck driver has allegedly fled from the site.
UP DGP OP Singh, speaking to reporters, assured that the probe into the road accident would be free and fair, and that as per primary information it was purely due to overspeeding of the truck, the driver and owner of which have been arrested.
In terms of the security not being present, the DGP said that there was no negligence, rather, that the victim had allegedly requested the security personnel to not accompany her because there was a lack of space in her vehicle.
