Unnao Rape Survivor Accident: Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif calls it travesty of justice

Alleging that the Unnao rape victim's accident had occurred due to hitting a stationary truck and not an overspeeding truck as per media reports, Former Team India cricketer Mohammad Kaif, on Monday, has said that it has been a travesty of justice, hoping that there will be some justice for her. Kaif had joined the Congress and contested in 2014 Loksabha election from Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh.

Mayawati alleges conspiracy, CBI monitors investigation

Earlier in the day, BSP Supremo Mayawati alleged that the accident in  Rae Bareli which rendered the victim and her lawyer hospitalized in critical condition, while killing her aunts on the spot, seems to be a conspiracy to kill her. She requested the Supreme Court to look into the matter and ensure that a thorough investigation be done in the swiftest possible manner.

Sources report that the CBI has sought details from UP Police about the accident as the victim is the prime witness in the Unnao case. The CBI has reportedly decided to keep a close eye on the investigation of UP police with regards to the accident, as per sources.

Unnao Rape Survivor & Lawyer Critical After Road Accident, Her Mother Blames Accused MLA Sengar

Unnao victim's Accident:

Earlier on Sunday, a car in which the survivor of the Unnao rape case, her family and lawyer were traveling was hit by an over-speeding truck in Rae Bareli on Sunday, killing two members while leaving her and her advocate critically injured, police said.

The family was allegedly visiting the Unnao rape victim's uncle,  who is currently in Raebareli jail. The police are currently investigating the circumstance under which the accident has occurred. Sources also report that a truck had allegedly hit the victim's car, and the truck driver has allegedly fled from the site.
Police investigation:

On Monday, Unnao SP Verma said that on the directives of senior officials, he along with the mother of the rape survivor, her three sisters and brother were rushing to Lucknow.

The SP also said, "It has come to light that the gunner who usually accompanies the family did not go with them. Why the gunner did not accompany them is being probed, and based on its outcome, action will be initiated accordingly."

Unnao Rape Survivor Accident: Mayawati Alleges Conspiracy To Kill Victim, CBI Keeping Eye On UP Police Probe

Unnao Case details:

Earlier in April 2018, a case was registered against Unnao rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar under section 363, 366, 376, 506 and Pocso Act of Indian Penal Code and was sent to jail. Sengar along with his brother Atul Singh is in jail since then. 

The 17-year-old victim was allegedly raped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar on 4 June 2017. After accusing him, in April 2018, the victim had attempted to self-immolate before the Uttar Pradesh chief minister's residence.

Following that, her father was assaulted, allegedly by the rape-accused BJP MLA's brother Atul Singh Sengar. Before succumbing to his injuries, the victim's father had named Atul Singh Sengar as his assaulter in video testimony.
