Unnao Rape Survivor Accident: Mayawati Alleges Conspiracy To Kill Victim, CBI Keeping Eye On UP Police Probe

Alleging a conspiracy to kill the Unnao Rape victim, BSP Supremo Mayawati, on Monday, has tweeted that the accident in  Rae Bareli which rendered the victim and her lawyer hospitalized in critical condition, while killing her aunts on the spot, seems to be a conspiracy. She requested the Supreme Court to look into the matter and ensure that a thorough investigation is done in the swiftest possible manner.

(In Unnao Rape victim's car Rae Bareli, in the first instance, a conspiracy to kill her with a truck, in which her aunts were killed and she herself and her counsel were severely injured. The Supreme Court must be vigilant and ensure strict action against the culprits)

Sources report that the CBI has sought details from UP Police about the accident as the victim is the prime witness in the Unnao case. The CBI has reportedly decided to keep close eye on the investigation of UP police with regards to the accident, as per sources.

Congress questions CBI investigation:

Meanwhile, Congress UP General Secretary East Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too has questioned the progress of the CBI investigation, the continuance of the accused MLA in the BJP and the safety of victims and witnesses in the state. '

(The road accident of the Unnao Rape victim is shocking. Where has the CBI probe in this case reached? Why is the accused MLA still in the BJP? Why the laxity in security for the victim and witnesses? Without answers to these questions, can there be any expectation of justice form the BJP government?)

Unnao Rape Survivor & Lawyer Critical After Road Accident, Her Mother Blames Accused MLA Sengar

Unnao victim's Accident:

Earlier on Sunday, a car in which the survivor of the Unnao rape case, her family and lawyer were traveling was hit by an over-speeding truck in Rae Bareli, killing two members while leaving her and her advocate critically injured, police said.

The family was allegedly visiting the Unnao rape victim's uncle,  who is currently in Raebareli jail. The police are currently investigating the circumstance under which the accident has occurred. Sources also report that a truck had allegedly hit the victim's car, and the truck driver has allegedly fled from the site.

Police investigation:

On Monday, Unnao SP Verma said that on the directives of senior officials, he along with the mother of the rape survivor, her three sisters and brother were rushing to Lucknow.

The SP also said, "It has come to light that the gunner who usually accompanies the family did not go with them. Why the gunner did not accompany them is being probed, and based on its outcome, action will be initiated accordingly."

Unnao Rape Victim And Her Lawyer Critical After Meeting With Car Accident In Raebareli, Police Investigation Underway

Unnao Case details:

Earlier in April 2018, a case was registered against Unnao rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar under section 363, 366, 376, 506 and Pocso Act of Indian Penal Code and was sent to jail. Sengar along with his brother Atul Singh is in jail since then. 

The 17-year-old victim was allegedly raped by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar on 4 June 2017. After accusing him, in April 2018, the victim had attempted to self-immolate before the Uttar Pradesh chief minister's residence.

Following that, her father was assaulted, allegedly by the rape-accused BJP MLA's brother Atul Singh Sengar. Before succumbing to his injuries, the victim's father had named Atul Singh Sengar as his assaulter in video testimony.
