UP DGP on security arrangements ahead of Ayodhya verdict

Ahead of Supreme Court’s verdict on the much-awaited Ayodhya verdict, the Uttar Pradesh Police is keeping a close watch on the social media posts. The Uttar Pradesh DGP has said the police is keeping a close tab on posts going up on Twitter, Facebook and other social media platforms. 

'Seventy-six cases have been registered'

“Internet services have been scrapped in one district for 24 hours. Seventy-six cases have been registered,42 people have been arrested and we have recommended blocking of 670 social media accounts,” said the DGP.

Tight watch on social media

Adding to the statements above, the UP DGP said, anti-social and communal elements are being closely watched. He also said the police is keeping a tight watch on social media and has also appealed not to post communal or objectionable posts on social media. The DGP said, even the NSG can be slammed on those who spread rumours and hatred. He also appealed to all people to not post inflammable content ahead of the sensitive Ayodhya case verdict.

Aerial Surveillance in Ayodhya and Lucknow

He also said tight security arrangements have been made all across Uttar Pradesh.

“One ADG Rank official deployed in Ayodhya and Paramilitary forces are there. Aerial Surveillance is also being done in Ayodhya and Lucknow with one helicopter on standby at both the places. 

According to sources, Yogi Adityanath will remain in a 'ready to move' position. Apart from this, 9 helicopters have been arranged for urgent movement basis while 3 separate choppers will be made available for aerial monitoring. Drones are being used in sensitive areas to monitor any suspicious activity.

The Supreme Court is currently delivering its verdict on the Ayodhya Dispute. A five-judge constitution bench will deliver the verdict of Ayodhya land dispute case.  The bench consists of Chief Justice of India, Justice SA Bobde, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice Abdul Nazeer.
