With theme-based pandals on a rise this Durga Puja, the organisers in Varanasi have designed a pandal with 'Chandrayaan-2' as their concept. The pandal, which is around 100-feet in height, was completed in two months. Along with the installation of idols of goddesses, people here have also made a model of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chief K Sivan and astronauts. Durga Puja starts from the seventh day after Mahalaya and ends on the tenth day of Dashami or Dussehra.
Member of Durga Puja Committee, Rajan Jaiswal said, "Even though the Chandrayan-2 mission did not happen in the way it was planned, we want to celebrate the efforts made by the ISRO. We have made a model of ISRO Chief K Sivan as he said they plan to do another moon mission. We have even installed models of astronauts."

Speaking to ANI, Srinjay Chatterjee - an organiser has explained the reason behind the letterbox theme. He said, "This year's theme is based on a line (Kolikata Cholichhe Norite Norite) from a poem by Rabindranath Tagore. We have used the letterboxes as these were an integral part of Kolkata's history". Photos also show that the ceiling of the Pandal is dotted with buildings - a reflection of present-day Kolkata.

With climate change and eco-conservation take priority in the world, Kolkata's Chetla Agrani Club has decided to celebrate 'Durga Puja' in a uniquely recycling way. Organisers of this year's Durga Puja Pandal have decorated the Pandal with 4000 old letterboxes along with old typewriters, lanterns, phones, radios, gramophone, and clocks, according to ANI. Photos show a colourful array of letterboxes, decorated with scenes of daily Kolkata life forming a cave-like Pandal. The club was founded in 1959.
