UP police arrests 2 brothers; Recovers heroin worth over Rs 2 crore

Two brothers, Nitin and Sachin, were arrested by the UP police on September 24, Tuesday for possession of around 1.3 kg of heroin worth over Rs 2 crores.

Two brothers, identified as, Nitin and Sachin, were arrested by the Uttar Pradesh (UP) police from the Vijay Nagar area on September 24, Tuesday, and around 1.3 kilograms (kg) of heroin which is worth over Rs 2 crores was recovered by the police from their possession.

UP Police arrests two; 1.3 kg heroin seized

The UP police issued a statement in the case on September 25, Wednesday. The police said that they had recovered over 1.3 kg of heroin and also a two-wheeler from the two brothers. The police also stated that the real brothers have a criminal record of similar cases. "We have arrested two people on Tuesday.  We recovered a two-wheeler and 1.3 kg heroin which is estimated to be worth over Rs 2 crore in their possession. They are real brothers and have been arrested in the past for similar cases," Circle Officer (CO) of the UP police, Atish Kumar said while issuing a statement. The police further stated that the brothers used to smuggle heroin from Delhi's Nand Nagari and sell it in different parts of the Non-Capital Region (NCR) of Delhi.  "Both of them used to bring heroin from Delhi's Nand Nagari and sell it in the other parts of NCR. Further interrogation is underway," CO Kumar added.

Drug cartel busted in Delhi

Earlier on September 20, a team of Northern Range's Special Cell had busted an interstate drug cartel in Delhi. The Special Cell seized around 10 kg of heroin which was estimated to be over Rs 40 crore from their possession. The Special Cell busted key players of the cartel hailing from Manipur and West Bengal, who planned to supply the heroin from Delhi to other parts of India. After Sub Inspector (SI) Surendra Singh's team received inputs that three members of the cartel members were coming to New Delhi in a car with the contraband, the SI and his team nabbed them in New Delhi's Shalimar Village. Upon searching them, around 10 kg heroin was recovered from their possession.
