Teams of civilians have been deployed by the police near every mosque in Kanpur for peaceful dispersal of people returning from their Friday prayers. Police forces have also been deployed in sensitive areas and CCTV cameras have been placed to track any troublesome activity or riots over the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Mobile internet services remain suspended in UP's Kanpur.
