Days after a police inspector and a local youth were killed after a violent mob protesting against alleged cow slaughter in Bulandshahr clashed with the cops, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath claimed that the incident was an “accident”. He asserted that there was “no mob lynching” either.
Meanwhile, acting on a report submitted by the Additional Director General of Police SB Shiradkar, Circle Officer (CO) Satya Prakash Sharma and Suresh Kumar, the in-charge of the police post, were transferred "for their failure in responding in time to the situation arising on Monday in that area", the police informed on Saturday.

Earlier this week, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath meet the family members of inspector Subodh Kumar Singh who was killed in the Bulandshahr violence. The chief minister meet them at his Kalidas Marg residence in Lucknow.
Yogi Adityanath had declared a compensation of Rs 40 lakh for the wife, Rs 10 lakh for the parents and a government job for a member of the family of the inspector, who was also an investigating officer in the 2015 Akhlaq lynching case. The chief minister ordered a thorough probe and issued directions to take strict action against those involved in the alleged cow slaughter in the western UP district.
