Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and family offer prayers at Lord Venkateshwara Shrine

Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu is on a three-day spiritual tour. He offered prayers at the Lord Venkateshwara Shrine.

Vice-President of India Venkaiah Naidu offered prayers at the Lord Venkateshwara Shrine in Tirumala on Tuesday morning. 

The Vice-President who was accompanied by his family arrived last evening for a spiritual visit at the famous hill-top shrine. The VPI stayed at the heavily guarded Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) guest house. The TTD priests welcomed the Vice-President and his family at the main entrance of the holy shrine. 

As per sources, the VP and his family spent over half an hour at the shrine. Once inside the sanctum, Naidu spoke to the media and said:

''I offered prayers to Universal Lord Venkateshwara so that he bestows me with enough power and strength to offer services to my nation."

The Vice-President also prayed for the elimination of world conflicts and hunger. 

After offering prayers, Naidu was honored with a silk cloth and 'prasadam' by the shrine officials. In addition, cultural and literary events and programs have also been organized for him. The VPI will further join the devotees for lunch and later head on to Nada Neeraajanam, an open musical event in the evening. Talking about his other planned visits on his spiritual tour, Naidu said: 

"After darshanam, we will go to Dharmagiri Vedapathshala and render sevices at Annaprasada Bhavanam today."

On Monday, the Vice-President addressed several scientists, young researchers and students from National Atmospheric Research Laboratory (NARL) in Tirupati and urged them to tackle climate change before its too late. 

“As we all are aware, weather and climate were posing new challenges with each passing day and as a result we were experiencing global warming and its effects in the form of extreme weather, cyclonic storms, intense thunderstorms, torrential rain, and droughts.”

He also mentioned the grave issues that are caused by changing weather and climate patterns further affecting the agriculture and economy. 

 The Vice-President is on a three-day spiritual tour along with his family. He is scheduled to return to the national capital on June 5th.
