Indian diplomat from Jammu and Kashmir Vimarsh Aryan, who called out Pakistan's "false and fabricated" narratives as an attempt to 'politicise' and 'polarise' the council along with continued sponsorship of cross-border terrorism at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Geneva on Tuesday. The Indian diplomat is the First Secretary at the permanent mission of India to the UN, Geneva.

Vimarsh Aryan: The J&K Diplomat to criticise Pakistan

Aryan, qualified IAS exam in 2011 at a young age of 24. He hails from a remote village of Paryote, Doda Tehsil, Jammu and Kashmir. Aryan, son of Ram Lal Bhagat and Mrs. Kanta Rani Bhagat, Vimarsh also qualified the J&K Civil Services Exam. A B-Tech Graduate from NIT Srinagar, he completed his schooling at Kishtwar district later shifting to Sainik School Nagrota. He later joined the KV Bantalab where he completed his 11th and 12th.

Vimarsh Aryan has completed a successful two years tenure as the Regional Passport officer of J&K. He had been deployed as the Officer Incharge for Union Minister of State for External Affairs General (Retd) Dr VK Singh’s office. Passport services have seen a remarkable change during his time deployment in Jammu and Kashmir, with two previous passport Seva Kendra doubling from two to four with the addition of POPSK Leh and POPSK Udhampur.

Aryan has been awarded the Passport Seva Puraskar 2016 by the then External Affairs Minister Late Sushma Swaraj for leading RPO Jammu in achieving high standards in passport delivery. He is one of the youngest RPOs to have been awarded the Puraskar by External Affairs Minister. He is currently deployed as the First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of India to the UN, Geneva.

The youth who does not falter

In July 2019, Vimarsh took a jibe at Pakistan at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), Geneva on the issue of Kashmir. On which he stated, that Islamabad's portrayal of determination is a 'state-sponsored terrorism' criticising Pakistan's 'mendacious propoganda' which poses a 'severe danger' to other countries. He ended by saying "Pakistan should not waste time by indulging in futile political propaganda, instead, focus on its own dismal rights and work constructively towards a safe, stable, secure South Asian region which is free from terror and violence."
