President of Muslim Political Council of India & SDPI Leader Tasleem Rehmani, and Political Commentator Bhai Baldeep, during the 10 PM debate with Republic TV's editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami, admitted attending Pakistan national day event at the Pakistan High Commission in India on Friday.
When asked as to why he chose to grace the event, despite the government boycotting it, and also that Pakistan is the same country which harbors terrorists who orchestrate Pulwama and 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, Tasleem Rehmani, in a brazen manner, stated that there is nothing wrong in doing so.
"Yes I was there (at the Pakistan High Commission). Why to apologize? The government announced in the last moment they are boycotting," he said even as BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra condemned his act and asked him to apologize.
Same was the case with Bhai Baldeep, who during the latter part of the debate accepted attending the event. "Even I went to the embassy. Even I went, but did not eat the food" said Bhai Baldeep much to the astonishment of Sambit Patra.
He reasoned his visit by using the example of IAF's Wing Commander Abhinandan, stating if Indian authorities could go past the border, then what was wrong in him going to the Pakistan's National Day event.
