The Gujjars who had been protesting peacefully have turned their movement violent. The protestors have torched a police jeep and a van. The protesters had blocked the Delhi-Mumbai highway in Dholpur in the state. The highway sees a lot of traffic. When the police tried to clear the highway, the protestors started pelting stones on the cops, following which the police began lathi charge. The protestors then set the vehicles ablaze.

The Gujjars who had been protesting peacefully for reservation have turned their movement violent. The protestors have torched a police jeep and a van in Dholpur in Rajasthan.

The protesters had blocked the Delhi-Mumbai highway in Dholpur in the state. The highway sees a lot of traffic.When the police tried to clear the highway, the protestors started pelting stones on the cops, following which the police began lathi charge. The protestors then set the vehicles ablaze.

As in the visuals in the video, the Delhi-Mumbai highway is empty owing to it being blocked by the protestors. Scores of agitators have assembled to protest for their demand. Several trucks and tankers lay standstill and police are seen maintaining vigilance at the spot.

The two vehicles which were set ablaze by the protestors are seen being burnt.

Agitators have blocked railway tracks in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district for the second day on Saturday demanding five per cent reservation to Gujjars, Raika-Rebari, Gadia Luhar, Banjara and Gadaria communities in government jobs and educational institutions.

The Delhi-Mumbai railway track blocked owing to which five trains were cancelled and trains were also diverted owing to their protests in the state. 

The chief minister Ashok Gehlot has made three-member committee to bring sittuation under-control.

A senior WR official said scores of agitators have blocked the Sawai Madhopur-Bayana section under North Western Railway near level crossing gate number 167.

He said passenger help desks have been set up at Mumbai Central, Bandra Terminus, Borivili, Surat and Ahmedabad stations and additional staff has been deployed to answer calls on the railway's 138 phone helpline.

The official said catering stalls have been asked to remain open during day and night to provide food to stranded passenger.
