A shocking video has emerged from Assam, where All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) President Badruddin Ajmal was caught on camera hurling abuses, attacking and threatening a journalist when asked if he will join the 'Mahagathbandhan'.

The incident is reported from Mankachar, where Ajmal was holding a press conference. When the reporter questioned him whether he will join the Mahagathbandhan in the state as well at the Centre, the AIUDF chief got angry and misbehaved with the journalist.

Here's a translated transcript of the exchange (there is liberal use of foul language and expletives)

Badruddin Ajmal: In the Centre, we'll be with the Mahagathbandhan
Reporter: Will you be with them in Assam?
Badruddin Ajmal: You don't have to worry about it. We are with them in Delhi.
Reporter: So, you will be with the BJP or Congress, whichever comes to power in Delhi?
Badruddin Ajmal: So how many crores will you give me?...You're recording this, right? You son of a rascal. People like you have ruined the name of journalism. Rest of you (other journalists) are not like this, but this fellow is 'Badmaash'.
(Gets up and attacks the reporter)
Badruddin Ajmal: Get away, you dog. He is asking for how much money will I be sold? His father will be sold.
(Picks mike)
Badruddin Ajmal: Try and do a case against me you son of a dog. I have 1000's of people here. If I signal one, they will finish you. You dog, animal.
Someone from the crowd: Touch his feet and say sorry.

The journalist has filed an FIR after the incident. Speaking about that, he was quoted by PTI as saying, "“People gathered there and I was about to be thrashed. I was forced to apologise and I did it to save my life. I have already filed an FIR."
