Delhi BJP spokesperson Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga recently took to Twitter to share a video which shows the members of Parliament standing to pay respect to the National Song, 'Vande Mataram', during a session in Lok Sabha, and a point he is trying to make via it has been backed by former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

The video, which appears to be a clip from the Winter session of Parliament that just concluded, first shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi, then pans to other BJP leaders including MEA Sushma Swaraj, LK Advani, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Sports Minister Col Rajyavardhan Rathore standing silent and motionless as the National Song plays. As the camera moves to the other side, Opposition leaders including Sonia Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge among others are also standing much the same way.

However, at this point, the only significant movement that can be made out is from Congress president Rahul Gandhi who is craning his neck seemingly to look around. Sharing the 30-second-clip, Tajinder Bagga captioned the post saying 'The Accidental Indian', which is clearly a play on 'The Accidental Prime Minister' book and film based on the UPA-1 government of then PM Dr Manmohan Singh.

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan replied to Tajinder Bagga's post on Twitter targeting the Congress party over the recent 'Vande Mataram' controversy after the newly-inducted Kamal Nath-led MP government decided to discontinue singing of the National Song on the first working day of every month in front of state Secretariat Vallabh Bhawan, only to later commit what was essentially a u-turn reintroducing the custom with some tweaks.

Replying to the video, the senior BJP leader took some liberties in his attack and wrote, "Maybe this is why they decided to put a ban on 'Vande Mataram' in Madhya Pradesh".

In the light of the Vande Mataram row in Madhya Pradesh, BJP had attacked the Congress for putting a halt on the 14-year-old tradition of singing the National Song in the secretariat. Several BJP leader led by former M.P CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan gathered outside the state secretariat and sang 'Vande Mataram' in protest against the Kamal Nath government. The new custom in Madhya Pradesh will be for a police band to play tunes that will encourage patriotic feelings at 10:45 AM on the first working day of every month, and once they arrive at the Secretariat, the National Anthem and Vande Mataram will be sung.
