  • Harsimrat Kaur Badal alleged that the former PM Indira Gandhi conducted recce at the location at the time when there was an absolute absence of terrorist activities
  • Reiterating her accusation on the Gandhi family and former PM Indira Gandhi, the Akali Dal leader said that 'Sikhs were killed and labelled as terrorists for mere political gains'

On the 35th anniversary of Operation Blue Star on June 6, Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has leveling serious charges on the Congress party and the Gandhi family, has questioned the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of orchestrating the Army operation which was conducted flush out the terrorists hiding in Amritsar's Golden Temple complex, for political gains.

She alleged that the former PM Indira Gandhi conducted recce at the location at the time when there was an absolute absence of terrorist activities, citing British Parliament documents of the Operation, thus calling it a 'planned conspiracy'

She said, "It is important to know, that the conspiracy that happened 35 years ago, the British Parliament made the documents public, as per rule. And it was seen a year and a half back, that then PM Indira Gandhi had written letters to former British PM Margaret Thatcher asking to send experts from there for the recce of the Golden Temple for a military operation. And the dates are of the time when there was no terrorist activities. This was shocking, so does this mean it was a planned conspiracy?"

She further demanded that a Committee should be set up and papers should be brought from the British Parliament, similar to a Commission that was set by the former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee government for Anti-Sikh riots of 1984.

She said, "If that is the case a commission must be set up. Just like the riots of 1984, Congress created a committee however they wiped off the evidences of the 1984 riots. Then when the Vajpayee government came to power, then Nanavati Commission was set up and it was recorded for the first time as to what happened. On the basis of that, now we are getting justice for the same."

"I feel such a commission must be set-up and papers should be brought from the Parliament of the United Kingdom, that what exactly happened. Did Indira Gandhi do this to gain political mileage, was this planned? There was a reccee being done for a military operation when there is no terrorism there, so it was clear that those who could have been stopped outside were allowed to go inside," she added.

Reiterating her accusation on the Gandhi family and former PM Indira Gandhi, the Akali Dal leader said that 'Sikhs were killed and labelled as terrorists for mere political gains' and further demanded to know 'the need to conduct the Blue Star Operation'

She said, "A military operation was conducted with tanks and bullets the entire Golden Temple was demolished, even the innocent Sikh were killed only for political mileage. Because after the Blue Star operation the blot of terrorists was put on Sikhs, I remember every time I went out with my brothers we were looked at with such an eye that where did these terrorists come from. Putting a blot of terrorist on us, they won the elections and formed a government. This was a planned conspiracy of Congress and the Gandhi family. It should be known what happened."

"We want to know what was the need to conduct the Blue Star Operation, why was ths not stopped before. Golden Temple had 4 doors, you could have blocked that, a lot could be done. This is a clear indication that it was a planned conspiracy. It is the collective responsibility of the Congress party and Gandhi family, and Sidhu is a puppet of the family. Everybody is not like Sidhu, when party changes even the ideology changes. A true Sikh will never bend his head in front of the Gandhi family. What Sidhu says, Imran Khan will be able to tell better or General Bajwa from across the border," she added.
