Reveling in India's freedom, on the eve of the nation 73rd Independence Day, on Wednesday, weary travellers in Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport were greeted by a spirited flashmob performance by some passengers.

Reveling in India's freedom, on the eve of the nation 73rd Independence Day, on Wednesday, weary travellers in Kolkata's Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport were greeted by a spirited flashmob performance by some passengers.

Unfurling the Indian tricolour, a few young passengers dressed in white shirts and blue denim jeans broke into an impromptu dance performance set to the lilting tunes of the song -'Teri Mitti' from the Akshay Kumar starrer 'Kesari'.

The video which has garnered around 9000 likes, shows the passengers abandoning their suitcases and moving in synchronization to the other travellers delight, many of whom captured the dance on their phones.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort, Delhi at 7:30 AM after hoisting the national flag. He touched on many issues ranging from the pathbreaking decisions his government made after coming to power in the second term including the recent abrogation of Article 370 to water conservation and flood relief. 

Beginning his speech by paying tribute to the martyrs and those who fought for the freedom of the nation, and then gave a 10-week report card of his new government, which he said has taken various steps in different spheres, laying particular emphasis on the Triple Talaq law and the abrogation of Article 370.

Ahead of hoisting the flag at the Red Fort and his Independence Day address, PM Modi visited the Rajghat in Delhi and paid homage to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on August 15.
