Former Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has slammed the Congress-led Kamal Nath government in the state following the murder of a BJP leader.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manoj Thackeray was found dead in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday, less than a week after Mandsaur Municipal Corporation President Prahlad Bandhwar was shot dead.
Speaking to Republic TV, Chouhan had said, "It is unfortunate what law and order situation is in Madhya Pradesh. Even the ministers are politicising it. That is more unfortunate . MP government should take law and order situation seriously. The attackers should be nabbed as soon as possible. We will intensify our protest if action is not be taken soon."
Manoj Thackeray, an MLA from Balwadi, was found dead in a field in Warla police station limits. He had gone for a morning walk.
Earlier, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Mandsaur Municipal Corporation President, Prahlad Bandhwar, was shot dead in Nai Abaadi, Mandsaur on Thursday. He was shot by a bullet near the Central Bank at Nai Abadi area here. He died on the spot.
A day after the incident, Manish Bairagi, a BJP worker, was arrested in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh in relation to the death of Bandhwar.
After the death of Thackeray, Chouhan had written on Twitter, "Humble tributes to BJP leader Manoj Thackeray! Today Balwadi has lost a young leader. I pray to God to give his family strength and peace to bear the sad occasion".
Furthermore, he condemned the recent incidents of crime against BJP leaders including Prahlad Badwar, adding that there's a 'fear of deep conspiracy' behind the incident. Attacking Congress-led government in Madhya Pradesh, he went on to demand the CBI to probe the case.
"There is a sense of deep conspiracy behind it. The CBI should investigate it. The perpetrators have become fearless, people are being killed in daylight. Was the Congress slogan 'time for change' meant for such 'changes' only?"
