World Cup-winning cricketer Gautam Gambhir can always be counted on to take a stand when one needs to be taken, the most recent examples being the hazardous air quality in the National Capital, over which he has taken on both the state and central governments. Now, he has posted a tear-jerking patriotic video that he says should serve as a wake-up call.

The video is filmed in a classroom setting, and sees the class teacher drawing an outline of the Indian Tricolour on the blackboard and asking his wards how many colours it has. In response, the student in question replies "5". At this, the teacher makes to punish the student, asking him to stand on th desk and explain himself.

In response, the student lists three colours first - Saffron, White and Green. He then tells the teacher that the Blue of the Ashoka Chakra should also be considered. The teacher accepts this, but then seeks an explanation for the fifth colour. It is at this point that the student says that the fifth colour is "Red", heartbreakingly revealing that he is the son of a martyr and that the last time he had seen his father he had been wrapped in the Tricolour with the red of the blood he shed for the nation lending colour to the flag.

Hearing his student, the teacher, clearly shaken and emotional, takes off his cap and glasses, asks the boy to sit down and walks out of the class.

About the video, Gautam Gambhir said, "If this doesn’t wake you up, nothing will. If this doesn’t brings tears to you, nothing will. If this doesn’t unifies us, nothing will. Jai Hind."

Gambhir, whose Twitter bio includes the descriptor "Patriot" unfailingly expresses his support for the forces whenever he gets the chance. Recently, on the occasion of Army Day, he posted numerous messages of support:
