After inaugurating NCSM's Virtual Experiential Museum (VEM) in Varanasi in February this year, PM Narendra Modi was paid a visit to the visual museum during his recent visit to the constituency.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first visit to his constituency after being elected as the PM, visited the Virtual Experiential Museum in Varanasi on Saturday, July 6. As per media reports, the PM was seen taking a stroll at the museum, which displayed several cultural aspects of Varanasi using latest visual reality technology.

As per media reports, a film based on the culture and traditions of Varanasi was showcased during PM Modi's visit to the Museum. He was seen watching the film wearing three-dimensional (3D) glasses.

Later on the day, PM Modi shared pictures from his visit on his official Instagram handle sharing his experience. In the post, he wrote, "Varanasi’s Virtual Experiential Museum brings to life everything that is special about Kashi- the Ghats, a strong link with music, literature, art, and spirituality. Glad that I got the opportunity to spend time at the Museum today. Next time you are in Kashi you must visit too!"

Situated at the Man Mahal on the banks of the Ganges near Dashashwamedh ghat, the Museum offers visitors a virtual tour of the ancient city and its cultural and spiritual aspects. It is set up by the National Council of Science Museum (NCSM), under the Union Ministry of Culture. 

The museum inaugurated by Modi in February, this year, offers visitors with the experience of holy ghats, classical music, the weaving of sari, Ram Leela, 3D view of monuments, narrow lanes and betel shops among other heritage of the city.

"The a cultural landmark in the city of Varanasi, showcasing the various aspects of our cultural heritage," according to an official release.

Meanwhile, PM Modi who was on a day-long visit to his Parliamentary visit to Varanasi addressed a public at  BJP's membership launch in the city. During the event, he reportedly hailed his government's budget which was presented on Friday in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his confidence to achieve the target of USD 5 trillion in the coming five years.
