A day after Robert Vadra was interrogated for over eight hours by the Enforcement Directorate in Jaipur in connection with a money laundering case, wife and Congress General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh East Priyanka Gandhi on Wednesday gave her first statement on her husband's ED questioning. 

 Moments after the Congress committee meeting in Lucknow, Priyanka Gandhi was asked by the reporters if Robert Vadra's ED probing affects her. Reponding to the question, she said, "ye cheeze chalti rehengi, ye cheeze chalti rahengi, main apna kaam kar rahi hoon (These things will keep going, I am doing my work)".

Congress president Rahul Gandhi's brother-in-law Robert Vadra and his mother Maureen on Tuesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate in Jaipur in connection with a probe into an alleged land scam in Rajasthan's Bikaner district. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra dropped the family off at the ED's zonal office, taking time off from her four-day Uttar Pradesh trip in a show of solidarity with her husband.

Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi had dropped off Robert Vadra at the Enforcement Directorate’s office in New Delhi on the first day of his questioning in another case. When asked about the matter by the reporters, she extended support for her family, saying “He is my husband, he is my family...I support my family.

Priyanka Gandhi has been standing strong along with her husband in the ED probe. On Tuesday, ahead of Vadra's questioning, posters Vadra along with his wife Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Congress president Rahul Gandhi were also put up outside the ED office by party workers extending their support to Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law.

On the day Priyanka Gandhi Vadra made her debut visit to Uttar Pradesh as Congress general secretary, her husband Robert Vadra on February 11 said she was a "perfect wife" and "the best mother" to their children and now the time had come to hand her to the people of India. "Please keep her safe," Vadra said, doffing his hat to his "best friend" over the years and warning her against the prevailing "vindictive and vicious" political atmosphere.
