The Home Ministry summoned Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik over the incident of vandalism of the Temple in Delhi's Chandni Chowk.

As per sources, Home Minister Amit Shah is upset that the Delhi Police went slow in the case. Home Minister Shah met Patnaik in the Parliament and questioned him over the delay in action in the incident, say sources.

Shah, as per sources, was unhappy over police inaction as they took 45 minutes to reach location of the Temple vandalism case. As per sources, Shah believed that if police had reached in time, the incident could have been prevented.

On returning from his meeting with the Home Minister, Delhi CP Patnaik said that the situation in the area was returning to normal. He said that four people have been arrested so far. When asked about the meeting, he said it was a 'normal one'.

"The incident started with parking issues, following which police acted promptly. The situation is under control," he said.

"It was a meeting on the general briefing on the Chandi Chowk incident. The arrests were made before the meeting and legal action will be taken against them. The CCTV footage which was being circulated is of a criminal group who will be identified and arrested soon. The situation is returning to normalcy now," he said.

The summons came on a day when Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi questioned BJP government in the Centre where and said that the party did not care about the majority community.

WATCH: BJP Holds AAP Accountable Over Temple Vandalism And Aftermath In Delhi, Questions Silence Of Secular Lobby In Opposition

Earlier on Wednesday, the BJP had blamed the AAP for the incident. It has also questioned the secular lobby in the Opposition demanding their silence in the incident.

"No one would have thought there will be such an incident in Chandi Chowk. I believe AAP leaders are to be blamed as well, but I won't take names. The people here have told me how a quarrel between two neighbours was turned into a communal one, how people were brought in at night, and how the temple was attacked," BJP MP Vijay Goel had said on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, MLA Vijender Gupta, the leader of Opposition in Delhi, said, "This is an unfortunate incident, the communal harmony should continue. The question is why aren't the accused have been arrested till now. Secondly, the political parties, be it Arvind Kejriwal's AAP or Congress or Mamata Banerjee, make a mountain of a molehill, spread lies, provoke people over small matters, mislead them to disrupt communal harmony. But today, since it is a matter of a Temple, will no one speak about it? Will no one talk about the arrests? But with regards to the Sugrical Strike, they will side with Pakistan? What kind of government is this? If something is wrong, it is a wrong everywhere.
