Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad drew sharp criticism on Rahul Gandhi and raised questions over the Congress president's tweet targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, over China blocked a UN resolution to ban Masood Azhar, Jaish-e-Mohammed's founder as a global terrorist at UN Security Council.

Speaking over which, Ravi Shankar Prasad acknowledging India's diplomatic win, criticised Rahul Gandhi and the Nehru-Gandhi legacy of failing to act upon India's fight against terror.

He said, "China has yet again blocked the proposal to block Masood Azhar as a global terrorist. This has happened four times, the first time it happened in 2009, the second time it happened in 2016, then 2017 and this is the fourth attempt.

"But what is the most significant thing in the attempt of 2019? This proposal was moved by France, England, and the United States. This was co-sponsored by every other member of the UN Security Council by everyone except China. This is a big diplomatic win for India in itself, because the thing that India had to endeavor for before, today the entire world is standing with India."

"India is very disappointed, India and Indians are hurt due to the action of China. The BJP would like to highlight, that would the Congress party adopt a different voice in the case of a cruel killer and global terrorist like Masood Azhar?" the Union Minister said referring to Rahul Gandhi's tweet which emphasised on the failed diplomacy of PM Modi with China.

He said, "I'd like to ask him, why do you feel happy with India is pained? In politics, there would be differences but you're happy even in China's tactics. I know your tweet must be headline news in Pakistan media, but I want to ask a question to Rahul Gandhi today."

In a list of questions, he further asked Rahul Gandhi for failing to leverage his relations with China to aid in this fight against terror and addressed him directly.

He said, "As per your own utterances, you enjoy a very close relationship with China, you had a talk over Doklam, when you went to Mansarovar the Chinese Embassy people were keen to see you off, permission denied by the government of India.

"When you went to Mansarovar you publicly said that 'I am in touch with many Ministers', if you are so close to Chinese establishment, you should have used that proximity to persuade China to take a stand against Masood Azhar. We would not have had any issue if Rahul Gandhi would've used his relationship to handle the fight of India against terror. Even we would've felt nice, but why he is quiet now?" he added.

Secondly, Ravi Shankar Prasad censured the Nehru-Gandhi legacy and pointed out how it was Jawaharlal Nehru's decision to decline the offer of the United States to take a permanent seat on the UNSC in around 1953 and instead suggested that it should be given to China.

He said, "Rahul Gandhi, Foreign Policy is a serious and a sensitive subject, it is not determined by tweeting. Today Rahul Gandhi you are there due to your legacy, so the deeds of your legacy will also be discussed."

"The seat that was held by Taiwan be offered to China. Indian diplomats who have seen files have sworn that Nehru offered the Indian seat to China," he added.

After China, the Union Minister accused the Congress party of questioning the air-strikes conducted by IAF on JeM camps and asked for evidence from the government.

He said, "You only stood with the government for two days, then you questioned the air-strike. Your leaders asked for evidence, you stayed silent for that. Does Rahul Gandhi know his tweet will be read with a lot of interest in the Jaish-e-Mohammed office?"

"I regret to say with great agony today, what is the commitment of Congress in the fight against terror?" he added.

Union Minister responding to Rahul Gandhi's tweet said that India's diplomacy is such that Pakistan had to return Wing Commander Abhinandan under global isolation, a deed that Pakistan claimed was a 'peace gesture'

He said, "After the Mumbai attacks, the success of our global relations are such that Pakistan had to send Wing Commander Abhinandan back to India, such is our global isolation. India has given evidence to the whole world. Today I have already said what is the legacy of Rahul Gandhi as far as China is concerned."

Rahul Gandhi has continued to politicise India's fight against terror. After China blocked India and other members of the UNSC from making Masood Azhar a designated terrorist, Rahul Gandhi has taken the opportunity to attack PM Narendra Modi.
