West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has posted a video of herself engaging in a 27-shot-rally while playing doubles Badminton.

She has captioned the video: 

"We love sports. 
A token game in a village..."

Her followers flooded the post with comments:

One follower said, "Wow our beloved Didi playing Badminton. Really great and honour to see our Didi playing. Long Live Didi."

Another one said, "Strong powerful energy balance, means tapaschrya (practice) for ethic love (sic)."

This is not the first time, the West Bengal CM became the news for sports.

In October 2018, Mamata Banerjee had received a gift from football superstar Lionel Messi. 

Messi gifted Banerjee a Barcelona club jersey with Didi and No. 10 at written at the back. Messi also included a message which said, " Best wishes for my friend Didi from Lionel Messi"

West Bengal is one of the few states in India where football dominates over cricket.

Former PM and ex Karnataka CM HD Deve Gowda's pictures became an inspiration to those who want to stay fit. Notably, Deve Gowda has a full-fledged gym at his residence.

The #FitnessChallenge, which has gone viral on social media is an initiative propagated by Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, the Minister of State with Independent Charge of the Information and Broadcasting, and Youth Affairs and Sports ministries. Following Col Rathore publishing his own video where he demonstrates how he has added a fitness regimen to his daily work-day, and putting the challenge forth to others, people from a number different walks of life, including politicians, members of the Bollywood and film and entertainment industry, members of the sporting fraternity, government employees and other people have taken up the challenge under the slogan 'hum fit toh India fit'.
