Shocking disrespect to the country has been caught on camera at Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti's Iftar Party.
In the official event that was held on June 7 in Srinagar, and even attended by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh who was on a two-day visit to J&K, guests can be seen seated on circular tables in a lawn with picturesque mountains in the background.
The National Anthem plays but the guests who are on hand, including a number who were present at the personal invitation of Mehbooba Mufti, remain aloof and don't stand.
The event was organised at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar near the iconic Dal Lake. It was attended not only by members of the PDP and BJP but also by state Opposition leaders such as JKNC chief and former J&K CM Omar Abdullah who were placed with the Home Minister and Mehbooba Mufti on stage.

The Home Minister had visited India's north-most state amid a Ramzan ceasefire in terms of anti-terror operations, but also at a time when Pakistan has been resorting to daily unprovoked ceasefire violations, targeting civilians and security forces alike.
He made a number of announcements, and also spoke of initiatives to aid the youth of the state. He said that the government was willing to enter into a dialogue with right-minded persons to resolve the conflict in the state.
“You don’t need to be like-minded to talk but you do need to be right-minded", Rajnath Singh said.
