Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Phase- I of the Ahmedabad Metro on Monday. Later, PM took a ride on the Metro along with Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel and Union Minister of State for Housing & Urban Affairs, Hardeep Puri and young students.
PM’s recent ride comes close on the heels of him taking the Metro in Delhi on his way to the ISKCON Temple. The Prime Minister had visited the temple to unveil the world’s largest Bhagawad Gita on February 26.
PM Modi is currently on a two-day visit to the state, where he was born and brought up and served as Chief Minister for almost 13 years before becoming the PM. The PM had announced on Twitter about inaugurating the first phase of the Metro project. He had also announced about laying the foundation stone of the second phase.
He had also tweeted about various other initiatives including flagging off Bandra- Jamnagar Humsafar Express, laying the foundation stone of Rajkot-Kanalus Railway Line doubling project and inaugurating the New Civil Hospital.
