Mincing no words after the dastardly attack by Jaish-e-Mohammed on the CRPF convoy which led to the martyrdom of 37 soldiers in Pulwama on February 14, PM Narendra Modi on Friday gave a strongly worded warning to Pakistan.
The Jaish-e-Mohammed is backed by Pakistan.
PM Modi addressing the nation ensured the people that those behind the attack will be punished.
"I have full faith in the forces' bravery. I have complete confidence that people dyed in patriotic colors will send the right information to our agencies, in order to accelerate our fight against terror.
"I want to say to the terror organisations and their supporters that they have made a huge mistake. They will pay a huge price for this. I assure the country that the force behind the attack will be punished for their action. They will pay a very heavy price. I want to assure the country that the powers behind this attack, the perpetrators of this attack will definitely pay for their crimes.
"This is a war we are fighting to win. If our neighbour who has been isolated around the world thinks that by the kind of acts it is perpetrating and the kind of conspiracies it is plotting, it will succeed in creating a divisive atmosphere in the country, it can stop dreaming about it altogether. It will never be able to do so. And it will never happen. Right now, our neighbour who is going through major economic distress thinks that by causing such damage it can destabilise India.
"Its nefarious designs will never succeed. Time has proved that the path of which they have been walking has met with destruction and the path of which we are walking on is leading us towards progress. 130 crore Indians will gave a befitting response to every such conspiracy, every such attack," he said
A convoy carrying CRPF soldiers from various battalions was attacked by Pakistan backed Jaish-e-Mohammed on Thursday. Thirty-seven CRPF soldiers were martyred in the attack and five soldiers were injured.
The attack was strongly condemned across the globe.
The White House has asked Pakistan to immediately end "support" and "safe haven" to all terror groups as it condemned the Pulwama terrorist attack.
"The United States calls on Pakistan to end immediately the support and safe haven provided to all terrorist groups operating on its soil, whose only goal is to sow chaos, violence, and terror in the region," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said in a late night statement on Thursday.
