WATCH: PM Modi's pre-dawn morning walk in Gandhinagar shows that it's all about willpower

That Prime Minister Narendra Modi is religious about his wellness regimen is well known. Not only has he advocated Yoga both in India and abroad like few Indian heads of state before him, but he also practices what he preaches. And this is true even when he's not in the national capital!

That Prime Minister Narendra Modi is religious about his wellness regimen is well known. Not only has he advocated Yoga both in India and abroad like few Indian heads of state before him, but he also practices what he preaches. And this is true even when he's not in the national capital!

The Prime Minister was in his home state of Gujarat over the last few days, the highlight of his visit being his address at the All India Conference of Director Generals/Inspector Generals Of Police at the Statue of Unity in Kevadiya. Following that, he visited his old state capital Gandhinagar where he undertook a morning walk.

In a video posted on social media by BJP social media in-charge Priti Gandhi, the Prime Minister can be seen out on his walk well in the morning -- the Sun shows no signs of rising.

He's accompanied by at least six persons and has donned a grey track suit. As he walks past early morning bystanders he gives them a Namaste greeting.

PM Modi has been a steady advocate of health and fitness and has very much led from the front in this regard. He established International Yoga Day at a level hitherto unseen and has addressed conferences on its significance in places as far as Argentina. 

Memorably, when Union Youth Affairs and Sports MoS Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore had launched his #FitnessChallenge campaign, Team India cricket captain Virat Kohli had nominated PM Modi, who replied with the following video of his daily morning Yoga regimen:
