In a rather funny turn of events, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, just before his address to a rally in Valsad, Gujarat, was caught on camera getting kissed on cheek by a woman party worker.
On February 14, which is celebrated as the Valentine's Day across the world, the chief of the grand old party was set to give out a speech in front of thousands of his party workers. He was introduced to the stage, and had only sat for a brief period, before party workers swarmed him.
A number of Mahila Congress workers walked up to the stage, and one of them kissed Rahul Gandhi on the cheek. Following that, he was garlanded as the Mahila workers started chanting slogans.
The Twitterati had a laugh about the incident, given it took place on the Valentine's Day. Here are some of the responses to Rahul Gandhi being kissed on the cheek.
Following this funny incident, the Congress president gave out a speech in which he continued his attack on PM Narendra Modi and BJP over the Rafale deal.
"The slogan ''chowkidar chor hai'' is also famous in France. Even former the former French president says ''Chowkidar chor hai". The entire nation is saying "chowkidar chor hai" but PM Modi is silent. I asked him the price of Rafale jets in the new agreement, why HAL was sidelined and why Ambani was given the deal. He could not look me in the eye and answer these questions. PM Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley say that medium and small businessmen are thieves. They call Anil Ambani, Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi businessmen," he said.
