WATCH: Republic Crew Attacked By Stone Pelters In Budgam, Kashmir

In Budgam, Kashmir valley, the crew of Republic was attacked by stone pelters on Monday.

According to the on-field reports, the Republic vehicle faced a narrow escape while they were heading from the encounter site to the Chadoora village there was a clash between the pelters and security forces with heavy stone pelting being carried out. 

The Republic vehicle amid the act was attacked from all corners, as from the visuals it could be seen that the glass of the back window was cracked and shattered.

This attack on Republic crew and on the media has not been unprecedented in the valley, only recently in November 2018 ANI's OB van came under attack after an encounter broke out in Budgam. 

Earlier on Monday, two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Zinpanchal, Chari Sharief in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam district. 

The encounter is still underway between the security forces and the third terrorists, as reported by ANI. 

The 53 Rashtriya Rifles, Budgam police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) are at the operation. This comes a week after two terrorists were killed in an encounter with police and security forces in Kathpora area of Yaripora.

On January, Two terrorists, including one of the dreaded and oldest terrorist Zeenat-ul-Islam and Shakeel Ahmad Dar, were killed in a joint operation by the Army, Police and CRPF in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district, police said.

Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Katpora area in south Kashmir's Kulgam district last evening after receiving specific information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.

As per policy, the terrorists were given an opportunity to surrender. The terrorists, however, continued to fire and were eliminated in the ensuing gunfight. The terrorists have been identified as Zeenat ul Islam and Shakeel Ahmed Dar
