People from all walks of life are visiting the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela in large making it the largest religious congregation in the world. As per reports, the Uttar Pradesh government allocated Rs 4,200 crore for various arrangements at the Kumbh Mela, which is over thrice the budget of the Maha Kumbh in 2013, making the mega pilgrimage perhaps the costliest ever. Saints and seers, along with pilgrims and tourists from across the world are continuously reaching Prayagraj to take Holy dip at the Sangam - the confluence of rivers Ganga , Yamuna and mythical Saraswati.
Earlier on Wednesday, BJP chief Amit Shah took a holy dip in Kumbh along with U.P CM Yogi Adityanath and other BJP party members. Following the holy dip, he also performed aarti at the Kumbh.
On Sunday, approx 1.25 crore people hailing from across the globe gathered to participate in the third shahi snaan held at the Sangam.
The Uttar Pradesh police has geared up for a seamless and incident-free Kumbh, spread over 3,200 hectare land in the Sangam City.
A sea of humanity swamped the Kumbh Nagari on Monday, February 4 as lakhs of pilgrims led by ascetics of Hindu sects took a holy dip on what was the second and most auspicious shahi snan' on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. About 12 crore people are expected to visit Kumbh till March 4, when the festival will come to a close.
