In an instance of hooliganism and misuse of power, Andhra Pradesh BJP neta in Vijayawada almost ran over a traffic policeman after authorities threatened to tow away his car. The accused has been identified as Laka Vengala Rao, a businessman-politician, who unsuccessfully contested the 2009 Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket. The incident took place at around 8 pm on Saturday night at MG Road which is considered as city's busiest road. It is part of an arterial stretch in the city.

The brazen act of Laka Vengala Rao was caught on camera. Republic TV has accessed the video of the incident in which a police officer is seen trying to stop the neta's car. The video clip which is over a minute shows a few traffic policemen standing around neta's white car, giving warning to the driver against moving forward. Paying no heed to the warning, the driver moves forward almost hitting one policeman standing in front of the vehicle. Even as the police tries to put a barrier, the driver inches forward before joining the traffic and driving away.

The footage has completely exposed the arrogance of BJP neta who is trying to take law into his own hands.

Earlier, a CCTV footage of BJP ministers' son thrashing a man in the middle of the road surfaced. The father came out to shield his son by calling it as a 'chota-mota jhaagda (a minor fight between two kids)'.

He said," This is a matter between two boys.  It's okay, kids usually indulge in minor fights with each other. And I am of the opinion that the kids should solve it among themselves. There is no need for us to get involved"

Further adding to his comment," There was no case filed and the issued is now resolved. There is no need to make a make a mountain out of a molehill".

In the video clip of over a minute, Rajveer, the son of junior Panchayati Raj Minister Dhan Singh Rawat, is seen slapping a youth for failing to give side to his jeep. He pulls the man out of his car and hits him repeatedly in a gross instance of hooliganism and misuse of power.
