In a recent episode of Republic TV's 'Patriot', Major Gaurav Arya spoke to a team of six jawans who have been felicitated for portraying extreme courage and valour in their operations. The episode features a branch of the '19 Rashtriya Rifles', also known as the 'Ultimate Unnis'. 

The unit is behind the killing of terrorist Burhan Wani.

Speaking to Naik Gurdeep Singh, from 14 Sikh LI, who received the Chief Of Army's Commendation Card, Major Gaurav Arya dwelled into the specific series of events. Narrating his operation in a step-by-step manner, Singh said 'There was a militant in the house and we were asked to carry out an operation, wherein everybody was briefed about their responsibility, and helping us was a police representative, who helped in safely escorted the people out of the house, and informed us of a militant inside'. 

Recounting the event, he further said, 'We realised that the militant had a firearm and we asked him to surrender, but since he did not, this led into a cross-fire, which then led to an MGL being used by me, due to which the militant was found dead.

Speaking about the grenades he used, Naik claimed he had used three of them to take the militant down and thus complete the operation. 

After speaking to Naik, Major Gaurav Arya soon moved to another jawan from the 5 Medium regiment named Sipahi Shrawan Singh, who had taken part in Operation Akhaura. When asked about his operation, Shrawan Singh said 'After seeing 12 live operations, it has now become a routine for us after me being here for three years'

'There were three militants. Some we began moving. We formed a cordon. Then we saw militants at a far distance. We challenged them. They immediately threw a grenade on us. We also retaliated and killed all of them', he added.
