This was launched after the 44 RR received a specific intelligence input about the presence of Tiger, a chronic stone pelter turned terrorist. It was at about 1000 hours, when the terrorist sensed that the security forces are closing in, opened fire. The security forces retaliated and were able to quickly encircle the location where the terrorists were trapped and firing on.

A day after he was eliminated, an old video surfaced online wherein Sameer Tiger was seen daring the Indian Army, specifically Major Rohit Shukla. The video was reportedly shot a day before the terrorist was gunned down.

“Tell Shukla (Major Rohit Shukla), Lion will hunt even if you think the jungle is yours. If he (Major Shukla) is his mother’s son, ask him to come face us,“ Tiger dared major Shukla, a day before he was killed.

Sameer Tiger had, late last year, posted a picture of his holding a NATO-operated M4 gun and it went viral. Sources have said that even the new Bollywood film Tiger Zinda Hai is being used by the terror masters to create a myth around Sameer, especially among youngsters. The idea was to use Sameer as a poster boy so that more youngsters could get inspired and join terror groups.

He played a crucial role in recruitment of local youngsters by fooling them into a life of what they thought was full of honour, bravery, fun.
