A day after shocking video of AIUDF President hurling abuses, attacking and threatening a journalist emerged, Badruddin Ajmal discussed the Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Bill, 2018 in Lok Sabha. The AIUDF President said that "Triple talaq is not a big issue". 

"We are opposing this bill. We will refer good books to BJP people to read about Islam. That will eradicate their misunderstanding. Triple talaq is not as big of an issue as it is presented in front of everyone".

WATCH: AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal Threatens Reporter Over 'Mahagathbandhan' Question, Launches Expletive-filled Tirade And Tries To Assault Him

AIUDF President Badruddin Ajmal was caught on camera abusing and threatening a journalist when asked if he will join the 'Mahagathbandhan'.

The incident was reported from Mankachar, where Ajmal was holding a press conference. When the reporter questioned him whether he will join the Mahagathbandhan in the state as well at the Centre, the AIUDF chief got angry and misbehaved with the journalist. The journalist has filed an FIR after the incident.

Speaking about that, he was quoted by PTI as saying, "“People gathered there and I was about to be thrashed. I was forced to apologise and I did it to save my life. I have already filed an FIR."

Meanwhile, While talking on the matter, NCP MP Supriya Sule spoke about women empowerment and recited a few stories to back her points. She also said that even if the bill is passed in Lok Sabha it will get stuck in Rajya Sabha 'as the house gets shut at 11:15 am every day'.

Earlier, Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad called the triple talaq as a bill for “justice and humanity.” Mr Prasad said:

“It is essential that the Parliament talks in one voice and not make it a religious issue.”
