Woman's bag snatched by bike-borne man in southeast Delhi, case registered

Delhi Police has registered a case against a bike-borne man who snatched a woman's bag in southeast Delhi, officials said on Tuesday.

Delhi Police has registered a case against a bike-borne man who snatched a woman's bag in southeast Delhi, officials said on Tuesday. The incident came to light after Ajit Tyagi, a member of the Aam Aadmi Party's social media team, tweeted about it.

"Just now, a person snatched the bag of a woman from near Batla House Road. I chased him for quite a distance but he escaped," Tyagi tweeted on Monday.

He added that AAP MP Sanjay Singh was also with him in his car when the incident took place.

Police said the snatching took place on Monday around 6.30 pm.

"The woman complainant reached the police station half an hour after the incident. A case under the relevant sections has been registered and investigation is underway," Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) R P Meena said.
