It's Holi and Gujarat's Ahmedabad is celebrating it in a different style! People were spotted throwing tomatoes at each other at the 'La Tomatina-themed Holi party'. As they say, 'Bura Na Maano, Holi Hai', Gujarat's Ahmedabad is taking it quite seriously it seems. Ditch the colors, go the natural way — residents celebrate Holi with tomatoes!

Does this remind you of Zoya Akhtar's 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. Oh yes! For those unaware, started in 1945, La Tomatina is celebrated on the last Wednesday of August in Spain. People gather at Plaza del Pueblo to participate in the world's biggest food fight. It is said that the citric acid in the tomatoes helps cleaning the small town.

The netizens too reacted looking at the pictures. While some wondered and made jokes on the clothes being so clean in the picture, the others were just sad looking at the tomatoes going waste. One user said: "Why are some tshirts so squeaky clean even though there are hundreds of tomatoes on the ground . Kisi detergent ka ad hai kya!!@, the other wrote: "Please don't waste food. Culture of revering food can come to a society due to enlightenment of thousands. We have it from thousands of years n let a movie/foreign festival not destroy it."

Meanwhile, India is celebrating the auspicious day with colors and joy. Bollywood celebrities took to their Twitter to wish Happy Holi. Deepika Padukone wrote: "good health(mental & physical),good fortune, love and positivity... wishing you and your loved ones a very happy Holi! [sic]"

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara actor Hrithik Roshan too wished everyone on his Twitter handle. He wrote: "May the spirit and colors of Holi fill you with happiness, peace and love. Happy Holi beautiful people. #HappyHoli" [sic]
