India is celebrating as Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman will come back to his homeland shortly. "We will release Abhinandan from Wagah border," said Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Foreign Minister, Pakistan. India nailed a massive diplomatic win on Thursday as Pakistan government, under global pressure, was forced to announce the release of Indian Air Force's Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman.
Bollywood celebrities including Anupam Kher, Rajkummar Rao, Karan Johar and many more tweeted on the IAF Pilot's return. Joining them is Shah Rukh Khan, who took to his Twitter handle and wrote: "There is no better feeling than Coming back Home, for home is the place of love, hope & dreams. Ur bravery makes us stronger. Eternally grateful. #WelcomeBackAbhinandan"
Riteish Deshmukh also tweeted: "Welcome Back Home Dear #Abhinanadan - we salute your courage, bravery & service to our nation. 🇮🇳 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳"
Hours before IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman's release from Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the brave son of the soil for his service to the nation. While addressing a rally in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari, Prime Minister said that every Indian is proud that Wing Commander Abhinandan hails from Tamil Nadu.
"Friends I am delighted to be here in Kanyakumari. I begin by paying homage to Amma Jayalalitha Ji. Her good work for the people of Tamil Nadu will be remembered for generations. I am happy that the Tamil Nadu government is working hard to fulfil her development vision. I am proud that India's first woman Defence Minister Nirmala Ji is from Tamil Nadu. Everyone Indian is proud that the brave Wing Commander Abhinandan belongs to Tamil Nadu. I would also like to congratulate the Vivekanand Kendra on being conferred Gandhi peace prize a few days ago. The community service efforts of the Kendra is commandable and inspiring."
The announcement of Wing Commander's release came after Pakistan's Air Force attempted an attack on India's military installations in the Lam Valley of J&K's Nowshera. While India shot down a Pakistani F-16 jet, it was in this operation that Wing Commander Abhinandan's plane went down, and upon ejecting, he landed in PoK and was captured.
