Ayodhya verdict: UP admin to keep a strict vigil in 31 districts

Prior to the verdict in the sensitive Ayodhya case on Saturday, November 9, the security has been beefed up in the region and the adjoining areas. The administration is going to keep a strict vigil in 31 districts of Uttar Pradesh, officials have stated on Saturday. Temporary jails have been created by the Uttar Pradesh government in every district while internet services may be banned to check the spread of rumours through social media. The Union Home Ministry is in regular correspondence with the state government. Furthermore, the Union Home Ministry has provided the UP government with 4,000 central paramilitary personnel for deployment in UP, a senior official stated.

Special vigil on social media being maintained 

More than 670 people are maintaining a special vigil on social media and if the need arises the internet services can be stopped to prevent the spread of rumours, the senior official added. Security has been tightened in the adjoining areas of Ayodhya and Ayodya itself while temporary prisons have been created in every district of the state. 31 districts have been identified by the state government as sensitive zones while Section 144 under the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) which prohibits the gathering of five or more persons, has already been imposed across the state. Special focus is being given to Ayodha, the district where the disputed structure is located, and different tiers of security zones have been created there, and each visitor is being scanned. 

Ranjan Gogoi's security has been upgraded to Z-plus

In light of the Ayodhya verdict, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Ranjan Gogoi's security has been upgraded to Z-plus. The Z-plus security cover is one of the highest in the country and is provided by one of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), preferably the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The Supreme Court is all set to deliver its much-awaited verdict in the Ayodhya title suit case on Saturday at 10.30 am. CJI Gogoi is heading the five-member Constitution bench that concluded hearing the case on October 16. The other members of the bench are Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and SA Nazeer. According to reports, their security cover has been upgraded as well.
