BJP leader's brother Tribhuvan Tiwari shot by unknown bike assailants in Siwan, Bihar

In a shocking attack on Sunday, unknown bike-borne assailants have opened fire at Tribhuvan Tiwari in Siwan district, Bihar.

In a shocking attack on Sunday, unknown bike-borne assailants opened fire at Tribhuvan Tiwari in Siwan district, Bihar. Tiwari, who was immediately rushed to the nearby district hospital, is the brother of BJP leader Vinod Tiwari and the husband of JD(U) leader Pushpa Devi. He was later moved to Patna for further medical attention.

The assassination attempt occurred when Tribhuvan Tiwari was at his own residence. While Tiwari has been booked under several cases in connection with alleged criminal conspiracies, this assassination attempt may have been due to election rivalry, reports ANI. 

Siwan SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra has assured that action would be taken immediately, saying, “Criminal behind the incident will not be spared. They will be arrested soon.”

Details regarding the incident are awaited.

This incident occurred just 10 days after BJP’s sitting MLA from UP’s Lakhimpur Kheri, Yogesh Verma was shot at during Holi Celebration by car-borne assailants, on 21 March 2019. Verma who had sustained a bullet injury on his leg was immediately rushed to the hospital. He was later reported to be out of danger. A case had been registered against the assailants with an investigation underway.

In yet another politician assassination, on 9 February 2019, Satyajit Biswas, the TMC MLA from Krishnagunj in Nadia district in West Bengal was fatally shot dead by unidentified assailants. Biswas, a close aide of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee was attending a Saraswati Puja inauguration at Phulbari in Jalpaiguri district when the incident occurred.The Police Officials had initiated a probe and are looking for the assailants, who had managed to flee from the crime scene.
