Congress Leader's Kin Accepted Dealing With D-company, Claims ED

As the investigation into the alleged links between D-Company and their facilitators in the real estate business proceeds, new details emerge unearthing transactions that were made through fake bank accounts. Ranjeet Singh Bindra - kin of a Congress leader Baba Siddique – has according to the Enforcement Directorate, accepted dealing with Iqbal Mirchi. Bindra, who is being investigated for alleged money laundering saw his remand custody extended as the ED has accused him of playing a crucial role in deals between Sunblink Real Estate and Iqbal Mirchi.

ED says Cong leader's relative disclosed payments made to Mirchi

The agency claims Mr. Bindra has “disclosed about certain payments to Iqbal Mirchi” and the payments were made “through fake bank accounts in India” for which fake KYC documents were made. The agency claims that Ranjeet Singh Bindra was the person who played a crucial in finalizing the deal between Iqbal Mirchi and Sublink Real Estate Pvt. Ltd. “The accused negotiated with Iqbal Memon on behalf of M/s Sunblink Real Estate Pvt. Ltd. and finalized the deal and got brokerage/commission of Rs. 30 cr. with other brokers through market operator,” said the agency.

Link between Sunblink & Iqbal Mirchi

The dealing between Sublink and Iqbal Memon/Iqbal Mirchi happened at multiple locations including abroad. According to the agency one such payment was “facilitated through Ajay Vazirani, Partner in Hariani and Co. a Solicitor firm” that made the payments reach Dubai. The agency claims that Mr. Vaziarani had denied any involvement and “was not cooperating with the investigation” unitill “confronted with the passport” and “travel details matching with travel details of Ranjeet Singh Bindra.

Mr. Vazirani also accepted that he met the family members of Iqbal Mirchi overseas and “provided details of the payments made by M/s Sunblink Real Estate Pvt. Ltd.” The payments were made to the bank accounts of companies which were controlled by the Mirchi family and through entities based in Dubai. He also had shared details of some more properties related to Iqbal Mirchi which are currently under investigation.
