  • The victim's father later died of his injuries, which the post-mortem report revealed, were 14 in number

A horrific truth of the death of the Unnao rape victim's father in Uttar Pradesh has been ascertained.

A video, that has been accessed shortly after the post-mortem report revealed he died after sustaining 14 injuries, has shown that he was taken to hospital but didn't receive treatment and was subsequently taken to the police station instead.

In the video, the father of the rape victim can be seen clearly injured with bleeding abrasions on his legs. He appears barely conscious and is lying on some sort of stretcher at a medical facility. There are at least three people around him, one of whom is a policeman. However, nobody seems to be offering the injured man any treatment. Instead, they're taking his fingerprints.

Furthermore, Republic TV has learnt that the injured man was then inexplicably taken to the police station. He died hours later, early on Monday morning.

Earlier, the post-mortem report had revealed that the man had fourteen injuries across his body, especially on his back and that he died as a result of these injuries.

On Tuesday, the Lucknow crime branch arrested the rape-accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar's brother Atul Singh Sengar, allegedly for beating up the rape victim's father.

The victim demanded that Kuldeep Singh Sengar be arrested and has called for him to be hanged, saying to ANI, "Kuldeep Singh Sengar isn't being arrested. I don't know if his brother is arrested. I demand that they be hanged till death. They've made my life miserable. I want justice. They killed my father".

On Sunday, the victim had attempted to self-immolate in front of Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath's residence in Lucknow alleging that she had been raped by the BJP MLA and his accomplices. Later, as per reports, her father was arrested and taken into police custody. It is unclear at this point how the above video and its contents fit in with the circumstances of his arrest. The police has claimed that he didn't die in police custody and that he died on the way to hospital having complained of abdominal pain and vomiting.

Six police personnel were suspended and four accused were arrested for allegedly beating up the victim's father in custody.

Sengar, meanwhile, dismissed the entire incident and even insulted the victim and her family, saying they were 'low class'.

"The crime they did, they should get punished for it. If he really has really done the rape then the BJP should remove him from the party", said Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athavale.
