In yet another case of violence in political rallies, on Monday, bombs were hurled at a BJP victory rally allegedly by Trinamool workers, in West Bengal's Hooghly.

Talking to reporters, a Trinamool worker has admitted that his party has resorted to violence to sabotage the BJP in the state when asked about the attack done by Trinamool workers.

"They(BJP) keep destroying the peace in this area time and again. Do you expect us to sit around wearing bangles in our hands? They are destroying banners, posters and speaking ill about Didi. what else do you expect us to do? Won't we retaliate?"

On being questioned whether Trinamool has now resorted to hurling bombs, he added: "What else do you expect us to do. You tell me what else should we do? Now you will see a different course of action by us. Once the orders come from the party, you will see."

Speaking on the reasons for the attacks, he said that they were fighting to save Trinamool.

"This fight is not anti-party. We are doing this to save the party."

When pointed out that the rally they attacked was a victory rally, he retorted, "Have they won the Arambagh Lok Sabha seat? We ourselves did not do any victory rally. "
