1984 Riots Case | MASSIVE: Congress' Sajjan Kumar Identified by 1984 anti-Sikh Riot Victims in Court

Congress Leader Sajjan Kumar was identified and named by a victim in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case on Friday, at the Patiala House Court hearing.

The victim, Cham Kaur, has recognized the involvement of the Congress leader in the 1984 riots following the assassination of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in which almost 3000 people were killed.

At the time the hearing was in progress, top Akali Dal leaders had gathered outside the courthouse, led by Manjinder Singh Sirsa who had on Thursday attacked a riot convict in the court premises. In order to prevent any untoward incidents, the deployment of police personnel was amped-up outside the premises. The case will next be heard on December 20.

On November 15, expressing discontent over justice being delayed in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case, Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that he has been waiting for 34 years now. He added that it was a human emotion that took the form of anger leading to the attack on the two convicts.

"We have been facing this problem for 34 years. We have been waiting for 34 years. We have been embarrassed and humiliated consistently. I have seen that time right in front of my eyes when I had to save my life during that time. And the accused who was presented in the court today, came with his goons today and came outside the court after the verdict. How can it be possible that his mindset could change even after 34 years? It is very quite human that you can not control your emotions at such times. You lose your cool," Manjinder Singh Sirsa said speaking to Republic TV after the incident.
