Amid the deadlock in the Maharashtra government formation, sources have informed that a big percent of MLAs from state Congress are in favour of supporting Shiv Sena to keep out the BJP from coming to power again. It has been two weeks since the results of Maharashtra assembly elections was declared and the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance had crossed the halfway mark of 145 seats by winning 161 seats. The parties are yet to come to an agreement over power-sharing formula and have been bickering over the chief minister post.

90% MLAs of Maharashtra Congress favour supporting Shiv Sena
Sources have said that 90% of MLAs of Maharashtra Congress are in favour of supporting the Shiv Sena to keep BJP out of power. Leaders like Balasaheb Thorat, Ashok Chavan and Prithviraj Chavan will be going to Delhi today and try to convince Sonia Gandhi. On Wednesday, Congress MLA Yashomati Thakur also met NCP chief Sharad Pawar and told him about Congress MLAs' willing to support Shivsena and NCP.

Will sit in Opposition: NCP chief Sharad Pawar
On Wednesday, there were speculations regarding NCP support to Shiv Sena as Shiv Sena's Sanjay Raut had met Sharad Pawar at his residence. Pawar in a media briefing maintained that NCP would be following the people's mandate and sit in Opposition. He also attacked the Maharashtra state and Centre over several issues including the recent severe pollution in Delhi.\

Results of Maharashtra poll
In the Maharashtra polls, the Congress had won 44 seats and the Nationalist Congress Party 54 seats. The Shiv Sena won 56 seats while the BJP won 101 seats. BJP has been unable to form a majority government and the amount of support from other MLAS is likely to get is still being speculated.
