  • Republic TV has accessed medical reports of Karnataka Congress MLA Anand Singh who has been admitted to hospital after an alleged brawl with another party leader
  • Congress party has been trying to cover the alleged fight saying Anand Singh suffered chest pain

Karnataka Congress MLA Anand Singh was hospitalised in early hours of Sunday after an alleged brawl with Kampi MLA JN Ganesh after a party at the Eagleton Resort in Bengaluru. The two leaders reportedly engaged in a heated argument after it was learnt by the Vijayanagara MLA that Ganesh is trying to defect to BJP. Hours after the incident, Republic TV has accessed the medico-legal report of Anand Singh filed by Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru which reveals the shocking details of injuries sustained by the Congress MLA.

The medical report clearly states that Anand Singh has sustained heavy injuries on face, head, chest along with a black eye which allegedly indicates signs of an assault between the two leaders at the Eagleton Resort. These reports furthermore contradict Congress' earlier claims saying that Anand Singh has been admitted to the hospital due to 'chest pain'.

Earlier speaking in the matter, senior Congress minister D K Shivakumar had brushed off the reports that Singh had been assaulted and claimed all the Congress MLAs were united.

"Someone has misled. There was no fracas. There was no incident of smashing of bottle (on Singh's head). It is all fake news. Everyone is together. The entire Congress is united," he said.

Meanwhile, Anand Singh's wife has threatened to take legal action against the errant MLA J N Ganesh, confirming that he and her husband engaged in a heated fight after which Singh suffered severe injuries and was hospitalised.

"If it is true that Ganesh beat up my husband, my children and I will not keep quiet and will take legal action against him," Laxmi Singh told reporters on Sunday.

Ganesh, who is also an MLA from Ballari district along with Anand Singh, is among the disgruntled Congress MLAs who was reportedly in touch with other dissidents in the party and was on BJP's radar in its alleged toppling game. An alleged tussle broke between him and Anand Singh over the rumours of him quitting Congress and joining BJP.
