West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's plans to attend Prime Minister-elect Modi's swearing-in ceremony seem to be solidifying as reports of her itinerary have emerged on Tuesday.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's plans to attend Prime Minister-elect Modi's swearing-in ceremony seem to be solidifying as reports of her itinerary have emerged on Tuesday.

As per sources, the Trinamool Chief is scheduled to board an Air India (AI 701) aeroplane from Kolkata to New Delhi on Wednesday at 5:30 PM. The flight is scheduled to reach the national capital at 7:50 PM.

Sources have also reported that Banerjee is likely to meet former President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday during the day and then she will reportedly attend the swearing-in ceremony in the evening. After attending the ceremony, Banerjee is reportedly scheduled to depart for Kolkata on Friday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, sources had confirmed that Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and Andhra Chief Minister-elect Jagan Mohan Reddy will be attending the ceremony on Thursday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Meanwhile, talking to media in Kolkata, the Trinamool Chief had said that she will try to attend the ceremony which is a token of respect to the constitution.

"I had a word with few Chief Ministers as well and we will try our best to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the PM as well. As this is a ceremonial program, there are many ceremonial programs within the Constitution of India which is a token of respect to the Constitution. As a Chief Minister, when there is a Prime Ministerial oath-taking ceremony, I should attend the ceremony. I am trying my best to attend the ceremony as well," she said.

Apart from the above-mentioned leaders all state Chief Ministers, state unit chiefs of BJP, state ministers, present members of Parliament, former members of the Parliament have been invited for the oath-taking ceremony.

BIMSTEC Member States' Leaders Likely Set To Attend PM Modi's Swearing-in Ceremony On May 30: Sources

On an international stage, leaders from the member states of Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) namely Bangladesh, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan are reportedly set to attend the event after PM-elect Modi, as per reports, extended an invitation to the ceremony. The president of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, too has been extended an invitation for the ceremony, the reports said.

On Saturday, Prime Minister-elect Modi was appointed prime minister by President Ram Nath Kovind after he was unanimously elected NDA parliamentary party leader at a meeting in which he asked coalition members to work without discrimination, stressing on the need to win the trust of minorities. In the general election, he led the BJP-led NDA to a landslide victory with the alliance winning 353 seats, including an unprecedented 303 by the BJP.
