In the battleground of Madhya Pradesh, which will head to elections in 2019, PM Narendra Modi bashed the Congress party from all ends, accusing it of trying to form an international alliance in order to overthrow the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the upcoming elections.

The general elections in the country will take place next year, with the state elections of MP also taking place at the same time. Congress, who are in opposition, both in the state and centre, has been trying to form a ‘Mahagathbandhan’, an association of all the opposition parties, to tackle the ruling government.

But in the past few days, the Congress party, especially its president Rahul Gandhi has been receiving support from Pakistani leaders, who have backed him to oust Modi and become the next PM of India.

And taking note of the recent events, BJP has launched a mammoth attack on Rahul, with PM Modi at the forefront. Addressing the ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ in Bhopal, he said, “The Congress party is failing to form an alliance in the country, and even if they are successful, the coordination seems impossible. That is why they are trying to form an alliance outside India. Now, some other country will decide who will become the Prime Minister of India.”

The former Gujarat CM further went onto mock Congress for losing mental stability. “Congress, what has happened to you, look at what has happened to you. Have you lost your senses after losing power? Elections will come and go, but being a 125-year-old party, you should have something. But nothing remains in you, nothing,” he added.

At the same gathering, PM Modi drew comparison between the BJP and Congress and said the former believes in social justice while the latter believes in vote-bank politics. He stated, "Our government believes in social justice. We believe in the ideology of Gandhi, Lohia and Deendayal, because we believe in togetherness.  The previous government played with the emotions of people as they did vote bank politics. Vote-bank politics has caused immense damage to the country in 70 years after Independence. Vote-bank politics is like a termite for the country."
