After 'Chor', Rahul Gandhi Calls PM Modi 'corrupt' And 'Anil Ambani's PM'

Less than day after a French website named Mediakart published an document of Dassault, which hinted that the company was given Reliance as a 'mandatory' offset partner to bag the Rafale deal, the Congress party stepped up its attack on PM Narendra Modi and the ruling government.

At noon on Thursday, party president Rahul Gandhi held a press briefing, where he launched one after another attack on the centre, claiming 'they have been left exposed' by the recent revelations.

'Anil Ambani's PM'

During his all out attack on the Rafale matter, the Congress president stated that PM Modi is not the PM of this country, but only 'Anil Ambani's PM'.

"Basically, Anil Ambani is in debt of Rs 45,000 crore. He has never made any aircraft, only opened his company 10 days before the deal. PM of India of gave Rs 30,000 to Anil Ambani. PM Modi had said he wants to be the 'Chowkidaar', and not the PM. But it is seen that he is Ambani's PM. To the youth, he is not the PM of India. You youngsters are looking for jobs. Farmers are under stress, but your PM is doing 'chowkidaari' of Anil Ambani and has directly given Rs 30,000 to Anil Ambani," he said.

Rafale attack

Referring to the documents of Dassault revealed by Mediakart on Wednesday, the Congress President linked it with the statements of ex-France President Francois Hollande to accuse PM Modi of giving the Rafale contract to Reliance.

"First the ex-President of France said that PM Modi told him that Anil Ambani should get the Rafale contract. Now, from the accessed document of Dassault, its senior executive has also said the very same thing. It is clear cut now that Dassault's senior executive and ex-President of France have said the same thing that PM Modi gave Anil Ambani a compensation of Rs 30,000. I asked the PM about Rafale in Lok Sabha. The whole country is talking about Rafale. But he is not giving any answer," he added.

'PM Modi is corrupt, he should resign'

The Congress supremo went onto call PM Modi as 'corrupt', before asking him to resign.

"The words from the report say compensation. Compensation for what? What has Anil Ambani done and what is he being compensated for? The reality is the PM is corrupt. The PM of India is a corrupt person. He came to power on the expressed purpose of fighting corruption. To all the youth, I want to tell you that PM is corrupt. This is the truth. There is a clear cut case of corruption against PM of India. There are allegations against him and pressure, so he should resign," Rahul Gandhi further mentioned.

Questions Raksha Mantri's visit to France

During the briefing, the Congress president also questioned the Raksha Mantri Nirmala Sitharaman, who left for France on Thursday for a three-day visit. Accusing her and the present government of hatching a conspiracy, Rahul Gandhi said,

"Nirmala Sitharaman has gone to France. I don't know what's the emergency in France that the Defence minister has to go there, and that too at the Dassault Aviation factory. So you can imagine what has happened."
